Settling-in Policy
Aims
We want children to feel safe, stimulated and happy in the pre-school and to feel secure and comfortable with the staff. We also want parents to have confidence in both their children's well-being and their role as active partners with the pre-school.We aim to make the pre-school a welcome place where children settle quickly and easily because consideration has been given to the individual needs and circumstances of children and their families. Methods
· Before a child starts to attend the pre-school, we use a variety of ways to provide his/her parents with information. These include our prospectus and talking through our routine with the supervisor.· During the half-term before a child starts with us, we offer the opportunity for you and your child to come in and share some sessions with us. This enables the child to get to know us and our routine before starting on their own.
· When your child starts to attend, we work with you to decide on the best way to help your child settle into pre-school.
· At the first session we ask you to fill out our registration form; if you have any questions we will be more than happy to answer them. Back to top
